Sam and David are a delightful nerdy pair. I hit it off with Sam at a party where we traded facts about marine life, Oingo Boingo and opera. She was newly engaged, she saw my wedding photography, and the stars were aligned!! I’m booked to photograph their wedding, and I’m so glad they picked the Griffith Observatory for their engagement session. I used to live in Los Feliz right around the corner from Griffith Park, and the whole area has always felt magical and calm to me, a little oasis in the middle of Los Angeles. I’d brave the traffic on Los Feliz Blvd any day to go back there for a picnic (or a photoshoot)!

We had a lucky day — the Observatory was crowded, but only in fits and starts, and we found lots of little corners to take photos. And heading down the hill to the park area was a breeze, allowing us to finish the engagement session in a secluded spot surrounded by trees. Love, love, love these photos, and can’t wait to document their wedding. <3
