Ross and Becky - Jewish Wedding at the Fig House
Ross and Becky are goofy, bookish, writers, very well versed in media; they love to travel, try out new restaurants, and host a good party; in other words, they are my kind of people.
They picked The Fig House in Highland Park for their wedding venue, which was an excellent choice for the kind of party they wanted to host for their wedding day. The mood was modern, stylish, but with some delightfully nerdy touches: each table had a quote from a favorite TV show, and their first dance was set to a song from Disney’s “Hercules.” (Peep the guitar solo photo!)
They also made sure to incorporate Jewish traditions, including an intimate ketubah signing, a beautiful floral chuppah, yarmulkes, tora, and breaking the glass.
Ross and Becky hit just the right vibe for their wedding, and their personalities. It was elegant, but not stuffy; gregarious, warm and silly, but not at all rough around the edges. I could tell that their wedding plans had been through a first draft, second draft, and delivered with a fine-tuned edit.
